Welcome to the Media Enhanced Learning Special Interest Group (MEL SIG) wiki
MEL SIG is a self-organising Special Interest Group that enjoys contributory sponsorship from a number of sources including the UK Higher Education Academy. The inaugural meeting was in January 2008, when the Podcasting for Pedagogic Purposes SIG was created. Since then the remit of the group has expanded to include an interest in the use of all forms of digital media in education.
We run events around the UK throughout the year, a host institution will provide the location, and we then liaise with them to produce the event. All events are free to attend and the days are a mix of workshops and presentations with sessions for beginners and experienced practitioners. Our last (fully booked) event was on 3rd November at the University of Edinburgh. We will be hosting our next event at Salford University on Friday, 3rd February.
You can see where we have been, and get a flavour of what happens at each event on our past events page.
Anyone with an interest in using digital media in learning, teaching and assessment can join the group, by joining the MELSIG JISC Mailing list.
